NOTE: CT PRO - set a date filter of July 2 - 3, 2021 and select "TRON" Blockchain

  • Based on the Exchange identified, document the transaction hash, the suspect address, and the exchange deposit address that would be put into your agency Letterhead Memo.

PRACTICAL # 2 (NEW GRAPH)

In February 2025, you received information from a Confidential Informant (CI) that a target was selling large quantities of Fentanyl on various Telegram Channels.  An undercover officer reached out to the target and purchased Fentanyl using the stablecoin USDC to confirm the CI activity.  Based on this transaction, you set a wallet alert to monitor the Target's crypto wallet.

On February 9, 2025, at 11:23 a.m., you received an email notification that a cryptocurrency wallet that you had flagged transferred over 133,000 of the stablecoin USDC. The crypto address that you had flagged was:

0xf8a86809851b703a4786613a6a2a98dead2a07b0 (ETH BLOCKCHAIN)

Note: CT Pro – Use Tracer and set a date filter of 2/9/2025 – 2/9/2025 - REMINDER TO PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE TRANSACTION HASHES.

After reviewing the transaction history for February 9, 2025, answer the following questions:

  • Identify the name of the stablecoin that the target swapped the USDC to.

  • Identify the name of the Token Swap DEX Exchange that was used to execute the swap.

  • Trace the new stablecoin and attempt to identify the name of the centralized exchange used to liquidate the cryptocurrency.

  • Based on the Exchange identified, document the transaction hash, the suspect address, and the exchange deposit address that would be put into your agency Letterhead Memo.

  • Using open-source intelligence techniques, review the official website of the identified CEX exchange and determine how to submit an official law enforcement request.
